FAQ's
Q.: Is it compulsory to transport children with a restraint system?
A.: Yes, all the children who are less than 1.50 m in height (*) must always be transported in a car fastened correctly with a restraint system approved to ECE R44 Regulation that is suitable for their height and weight. (*) This is the most common criterion adopted in Europe. Please check the norms in force in your Country.
Q.: Do insurance companies have the right to take recourse action if the child was not transported correctly?
A.: Yes, they do. The insurer has the right to reduce the provision of service if the insured has acted with culpable negligence. In general, a driver has acted with culpable negligence if he or she has not complied with the obligation of transporting a child in a safe manner.
Q.: Is it compulsory to fasten the safety belt during pregnancy?
A.: Yes, it is. Only the use of the safety belt, above all in the presence of airbags, offers maximum protection to the mother and baby. The only precaution to adopt is to slide the abdominal section of the safety belt under the stomach to avoid that it may compress the foetus.
Q.: What is the most important criterion to take into consideration when choosing a child car seat?
A.: The child’s weight. All child car seats are classified according to this parameter, with precise groups of use. Once you have identified the weight group, you will only have to decide whether to choose a specific or more versatile child car seat..
Q.: How can I make sure that I have chosen the correct child car seat?
A.: It is advisable to always check whether the child car seat is suitable for your car by carrying out a trial installation before buying the product. In such a way, you will avoid any problems arising from car seats that are particularly anatomical or safety belts that are too short.
Q.: For how long is it necessary to use a child car seat?
A.: The child car seat must be used as set out in the norms in force in Each Country. The most common criteria are the height (the child car seat is usually compulsory until the child reaches 1.50 m in height) and the age (up to 12 years).
Q.: Why is it necessary to fit child car seats for young children (Group 0+) in a rear-facing position?
A.: Young children still have weak muscles and, in the case of an accident, the position of the vertebral column in a rear facing position is such that the impact on the neck area is significantly weaker than if the child was travelling in a forward-facing position.
Q.: When Do I have to Replace the Child Car Seat?
A.: The child car seat must be replaced:
1. When the child’s head is higher than the upper edge of the child car seat.
2. In case of impacts (for example, after an accident, even though the child was not on board).
Q.: At what height do I have to adjust the safety harness of the child car seat?
A.: The safety harness of the child car seat must be adjusted in such a way that it must be extracted from the backrest at the height of the child’s shoulders.

Q.: At what height must the safety belt of the car be positioned?
A.: The safety belt of the car must be positioned at the height of the child’s neck (collarbone). Other positions, for example too high (on the neck) or too low (under the underarm), are very dangerous and must therefore be avoided.
Q.: How can I check whether the child car seat has been fitted correctly?
A.: First of all, check whether the safety belts are fed into the appropriate guides, in the exact positions shown in the instruction booklet. Then, check whether the safety belts are tensioned as much as possible.
Q.: Can the child car seat be used if the airbag is activated?
A.: The only restriction regards child car seats for Group 0+. In fact, it is not possible to fit these child car seats into the passenger seat if the airbag cannot be deactivated. On the other hand, all the child car seats for the other Mass Groups can be fitted also in the presence of the airbag. In this case, it is recommended to pull the seat back as much as possible. There are no restrictions regarding side airbags, apart from avoiding that the child places its head directly on the top of the airbag housing.
Q.: What is the Isofix System?
A.: It is the most innovative and safest system for fitting a child car seat into a car.
With Isofix, the child car seat is not simply fitted into the car seat, but it becomes an integral part of the car body. With its three-point locking device, Isofix is the safest child restraint system because it allows you to fit the child car seat into the car through a rigid base that ensures maximum safety and protection in the event of an accident. Unlike all the traditional child car seats, the Isofix system can be fitted into the car seat without using the safety belts of the car, which minimises the dangerous risk of incorrect fitting.
