Frequently Asked Questions

Q.: Is it compulsory to transport children with a restraint system?

A.: Yes, all the children who are less than 1.50 m in height (*) must always be transported in a car fastened correctly with a restraint system approved to ECE R44 Regulation that is suitable for their height and weight.

(*) This is the most common criterion adopted in Europe. Please check the norms in force in your Country.

Q.: Do insurance companies have the right to take recourse action if the child was not transported correctly?

A.: Yes, they do. The insurer has the right to reduce the provision of service if the insured has acted with culpable negligence. In general, a driver has acted with culpable negligence if he or she has not complied with the obligation of transporting a child in a safe manner..

Q.: Is it compulsory to fasten the safety belt during pregnancy?

A.: Yes, it is. Only the use of the safety belt, above all in the presence of airbags, offers maximum protection to the mother and baby. The only precaution to adopt is to slide the abdominal section of the safety belt under the stomach to avoid that it may compress the foetus.

Q.: Whatis the most important criterion to take into consideration when choosing a child car seat?

A.: The child’s weight. All child car seats are classified according to this parameter, with precise groups of use. Once you have identified the weight group, you will only have to decide whether to choose a specific or more versatile child car seat.
